The Sumoh product (in fact, all sumoh products) lack volume control and are only usanle with mid-fi equipment like Squeezebox. The Squeezebox may offer bit-perfect audio, but not when output from it variable digital output -- which is the only way to drive the sumoh. I have raised this issue with sumoh, and all that result is insulting smart-ass replies from the MD.
